OUR SUMMER PASSION

I did'nt have any photos of the bird house kit when we first got it,but we purchased it from the purple martin conservency here in Alberta.It arrived as a box full of pre cut pieces and a bottle of glue along with a very precise manual.

We started the project the fall of 09 and had it up the spring of 10.The condo is built in three levels,4 compartments on each level.

My wife is quite the artist so she took care of the folk art.The coservency suggests to make it colorfull so colorfull it is.After 8 hours of  maticulous work we ended up with this masterpiece.

Once painted with the folk art,the three levels stack together to make a twelve suit condo

The whole unit slides onto a 4x4 along with a pully system and is raised 16 ft. off the ground

This is the unit as it was being put on the pole.

My wife got the honors of hoisting it for the first time.

It was a fun project that we enjoyed building together and when the fruits of our labour pays off in the form of happy tenants in the coming years,we will enjoy many hours with our new found friends from Brazil.
